Buenos Aires, Jan. 8 (NA) – The interim president of San Lorenzo, Sergio Costantino, detailed the immediate priorities of his management, which is marked by economic urgency and the need to straighten out the accounts. The leader was clear in stating that debts must be settled, injunctions lifted, and each move in the transfer market managed with caution. In statements to 'Manicomio Azulgrana' to which the Argentine News Agency had access, Costantino explained that the first step was to attend to basic commitments. 'The first thing we did was pay bonuses to employees and agree on a payment plan with players to start normalizing the situation,' he said, who arrived at the presidency after having been an opposition voice in the previous management. One of the central axes of the agenda is the situation with FIFA, and according to what he confirmed, the club maintains injunctions for an amount close to 3.2 million dollars. 'We are analyzing that debt and we believe that soon there may be good news,' he stated, while emphasizing the need to generate genuine income to advance in regularization and recover sporting maneuverability. In this context, the transfer market appears as a key tool. Costantino revealed that there are offers from Atlanta United and ongoing negotiations for Elías Báez, with the expectation of receiving a formal offer superior to three million dollars. At the same time, he ruled out contacts for other players and was firm on the exit policy: 'We do not want to retain players who do not want to be here, but we will take care of San Lorenzo's heritage.' The message from Boedo was direct: stabilize the club, order the economic front and go through the market without mortgaging the future. He also confirmed that the only formal offer received was for Johan Romaña from River, which was rejected. With extraordinary elections scheduled for May 30, 2026, the leadership knows that their management will be brief but decisive: 'By managing resources well, things can work out. We are making advance payments and surely next week we will make important announcements'.
